It Started With A Dream

Tomas, the owner of our company started his commercial real estate career at the ripe old age of 32. He had previously been fired from 8 sales jobs due to the fact that he was always trying to follow his dream of owning his own business and these ventures always seemed to take precedence over his paying jobs.

After obtaining his sales license at 31, the first few real estate companies he was able to get interviews with told him that he was too old to be getting started in commercial real estate as it was a very competitive “Young Man’s” game.  They wanted smart young ambitious guys with advanced degrees just out of College and Grad School.  They suggested that he might do better in residential real-estate and he should go interview there.  Unfortunately that was not part of Tomas's plan as he wasn’t about to let someone else dictate what direction his life would go. 

After about 6 months of searching he was finally able to convince a small firm that just moved into the Atlanta market to give him a shot.  They were new and just wanted “bodies” on the street so he was in luck.  He was down to $900 in the bank…barely enough to cover two months rent and living expenses. In retrospect, he had considerably less money than he had years earlier when he moved to Atlanta at age 24.  This was his opportunity and he was not about to blow it. He made a commitment to himself that his "underachievement" days were long behind him. 

Following the simple success blueprint that Tomas had developed he was able to become one of the top selling brokers in the firm, which grew to approximately 20 other brokers by the time he left a few years later to pursue his dream of developing and owning real estate.  Something he had no experience in at the time, but again used his success blueprint to grow his real estate portfolio to 4 shopping centers that he developed and currently owns.  His plan works and should you become a client of ours and have the interest in having a personal mentor, he can teach it to you as well.
